Special Program for Preterm Babies at Ümit Hospital
On the occasion of World Prematurity Day, preterm babies and their families gathered at Ümit Hospital. The event was held at the hospital's Lidya Garden area. Pediatrician Dr. Şadi İdem congratulated the families of preterm babies and shared important information about the hospital's work.
World Prematurity Day Event
Dr. İdem highlighted that the hospital has one of the most important neonatal care units in Eskişehir and the surrounding region. He mentioned that the hospital continuously updates and improves its practices. “Our hospital opened in 2010, and in the past 6 years, we have followed approximately 3,000 babies in our neonatal unit. Among them, nearly 200 babies weighed 1500 grams or less. Premature births come with risks such as potential damage to the eyes, brain, and respiratory system. These concerns can continue even after discharge. However, I can proudly say that our success rate is very high and in excellent condition,” he said.
Success Story for Preterm Babies and Gratitude to Families
Dr. İdem emphasized the importance of family effort and cooperation with the hospital in managing premature births. “I would especially like to thank the families for their patience throughout this process,” he added, expressing his gratitude towards them.
The event concluded with a birthday cake cut for the preterm babies.
