How to Wake Up from Anesthesia?
The process of waking up from anesthesia depends on many factors such as the type of anesthetic used, the duration of the surgery, and the patient’s overall condition. When the surgery is completed, anesthetic drugs are discontinued. As the effect of the drugs wears off and the vital signs (such as pulse, breathing, blood pressure) return to normal, the patient is transferred to the recovery room. They remain there under observation until they respond to verbal stimuli.
Is It Possible to Reduce Postoperative Pain in Children?
Yes, it is possible. Various types of painkillers can be administered through different routes (intravenously, rectally, intramuscularly, or orally) depending on the child’s age, weight, and pain severity. In our hospital, painkillers are given intravenously right after surgery, and then orally once the child begins eating.
